Period101 is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to fighting period poverty - the lack of access to menstrual hygiene products - one kit at a time. Based in the Washington D.C. area, Period101 is devoted to ensuring all individuals have access to menstrual products by creating period product kits - canvas bags filled with menstrual products.

Our Story

At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, period poverty greatly increased. After learning about the issue and hosting a drive-by donation for period products during the pandemic, high school student Maya Manchester founded Period101. With the help of friends, the first Period101 chapter was brought to Thomas A. Edison High School
